Gleichen Pond Hockey Association - Start Up Information (2025)
Housekeeping!
We will be using TeamLinkt this year for registration, attendance, messaging, and scheduling. Use of the app is mandatory and crucial to helping us stay organized.
Please let us know if you are coming as soon as you can - We have a certain Coach to Player ratio that needs to be maintained for us to run effectively and be
sanctioned by Hockey Alberta (this is who we are insured through).
Our Schedule follows the Golden Hills School calendar, if there is no school then we will have no hockey (a copy of the calendar is included).
Dates to note:
Last day of hockey before Christmas break is Dec 18, first day back is Jan 6.
February 16-20 will be no hockey
Hockey day in GA: Feb 14, 2026. This is not mandatory and requires registration. Watch for
updates/registration link on TeamLinkt and Facebook.
Please use change rooms for U13 (downstairs) and U17 (upstairs); first changeroom
downstairs is for Females only.

General
Our program this year will run tentatively from Oct 15th to March (end date determined by ice &
interest), with ice times twice a week in the Gleichen Arena and Curling Club.
Sessions run Tuesdays and Thursdays and your child is welcome to attend one or both days.
If for any reason we need to cancel a session we will endeavor to inform you as soon as possible
by email and/or a Facebook post.
Ice times are as follows (age groups are fluid based on numbers and skill level):
Tuesday & Thursday:
5-7 years: 6:15-7:15 (1hr) curling rink
7-13 years: 6:15-7:30 (1.25hr) large ice split
Ice Flood
13-17 years: 7:45-9:15 (1.5hr) large ice
Program Fees
Pond Hockey Registration & Membership Fee $115.00/child
Mandatory Arena Membership $50.00 (Single) $125.00 (Family)
The skate pass allows your child and/or family to take advantage of family/public skate sessions
at the Gleichen arena and is valid for the entire season.
Your name & membership type will be provided to the arena staff to ensure access to Public
Skate.
Payment Methods: Cash/Cheque (bring to arena on 1st night) or Etransfer
